About
Oman Investment Authority (OIA) is the investment arm of the Sultanate of Oman. The Authority says it is mandated to manage, invest, and grow the Sultanate’s assets in Oman and internationally, while supporting sustainable economic development and Oman’s ambition to be an attractive investment destination.
OIA was established on June 4, 2020 by Royal Decree No. 61/2020 through the merger of the State General Reserve Fund and the Oman Investment Fund. Its investments span every continent and sectors including food and fisheries, energy, logistics, information and communication technology, public services, financial and investment services, tourism, mining, manufacturing, and aviation.
As of August 11, 2026, OIA manages its assets through the National Development Fund, Future Generations Fund, and Future Fund Oman. OIA’s 2025 investor guide describes it as Oman’s sole sovereign investment fund, managing $50 billion. LinkedIn lists the Authority as a government agency headquartered in Muscat with 201-500 employees. OIA’s leadership page identifies H.E. Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi as President.
